The model::archive

 

Here at the Model, we are dedicated to fostering and encouraging those who have an interest in the visual arts.  With this in mind we have set up an archive room to house art catalogues, books, art journals and magazines.  The intention is to provide a study space for students where they can access publications that may not normally be available.

The archive room can be opened to students or to members of the public in small groups by prior arrangement.  Materials can then be used in situ and notes can be taken.  The room contains catalogues of many public collections of art in Ireland , along with catalogues of past contemporary exhibitions at the Model and at other prestigious galleries in Ireland .  The room also holds back issues of art magazines such as Circa, The Irish Arts Review and The Visual Artist’s News Sheet. 

In addition to the visual arts, The Archive contains a small selection of works of fiction, drama, and poetry particularly by authors who have participated in Scriobh Literary Festivals held at The Model over the past ten years.
