Byrne Some comedians come out with their set running through their head. Others let their thoughts take them wherever they want. Jason Byrne is brilliant because he does a little bit of both. The No sooner had he walked onto the stage during the latter show than his set went out the window. Instead we were treated to 40 minutes of madness with two Germans and a bomber jacket which seemed to have a life of its own. Jason was a revelation and even when he did get around to his routine, we were cradling our stomachs with tears of laughter streaming down our faces. Jason was one of the biggest performers to play the Black Box and the opportunity to work with a smaller crowd (and without the interference of a bar) was something he relished. We were allowed a small glimpse into the mind of Jason Byrne and frankly its scary and funny in equal measure. But then so is all comic genius. |
