| Patrick
McDonnell has been standing up and making people laugh since 1996, when he
appeared as a novice at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival and
over the years continues to impress audiences in "McDonnell's
stand-up routine is a delight, a cynical, angry
beast of a set, which never loses its comic edge"
The Scotsman His
television appearances include The
Empire Laughs Back for BBC N.I, RTE's The
Lounge, and The Candidate
from @ Last TV, plus a weekly slot as the roving reporter on Don't Feed the Gondolas. He
has also appeared in a number of short films. Last
year Patrick was all over the Irish small screen in the 'First
Active' TV advertising campaign. However, he is probably best
recognised for his performance as country singer Eoin McLove on the hit
series Father Ted. Riding on the
success of this, Patrick put together a live show entitled Further Ted for the 1999 Edinburgh
Festival with Joe Rooney (aka Fr. Damo from Father Ted) which played
to sell out crowds and received rave reviews.
A return trip to "Splendidly
original and a bit bizarre, he is the business" The
Sunday Times. |
