COMPETITION Submissions
were invited from composers of any age and nationality living in The
three final works chosen this year by the judges and their respective
composers, are as follows : ‘
Ghost of Wind ‘ composed by Paolo Baggio ‘
let-down erosion ‘ composed by Larry Goves ‘ …et presque tout est hieroglyphe ‘ composed by Gavin Wayte These three pieces will be workshopped and performed on Sunday 3rd April by leading British ensemble Ixion, the 2005 Festival’s resident group, and a prize of 1000 Euro kindly sponsored by IMRO, the Irish Music Rights Organisation, will be awarded to the work deemed by a jury to be the best. Andrew Toovey, the Festival’s featured composer, will lead both the workshop and the jury.
