For you, only you:
Live

Sat 1 and Sun 2 November 2008
Choral group Alimere will be joined by sound artist and vocalist Mikhail Karikis for four unique live performances of For you, only you conceived for a number of distinctive sites in Sligo.

3.00pm Sat 1 Nov
Sligo Abbey

Known locally as the Abbey, this Dominican Friary was founded in the mid – 13th century by Maurice Fitzgerald. The site contains a great wealth of carvings including Gothic and Renaissance tomb sculpture, well preserved cloister and the only sculptured 15th century high altar to survive in any Irish monastic church. The Abbey is partially ruined and the site is a beautiful and inspiring one, and will make for a dramatic backdrop for the first live performance.*

8.00pm Sat 1 Nov
Drumcliffe Church

The Cemetery at Drumcliffe Church is the final resting place of W.B.Yeats and the site of a 6th century Columbian monastery. Drumcliffe Church stands on this beautiful site, nestling under Benbulben Mountain.

2.00pm Sun 2 Nov
Markree Castle Chapel

Markree Castle is a stunning 370 year old castle set in over 500 acres of secluded land just off the N4 at Collooney. A castle since the 14th century, with the most recent re-design taking place in the late 1800s, Markree is a hidden cultural gem where the very finest in Irish Victorian and Georgian architecture is to be seen. The Chapel at Markree has been lovingly restored and is viewable online.

Each performance will be 45mins long and includes a number of other works by Desprez and Karakis, in addition to the Boyce collaboration For you, Only you.

*Please note that the Sligo Abbey performance is outdoors so you should dress accordingly.

Markree Castle are delighted to offer a special concert-goers rate of €20 for Sunday Lunch at the Castle at 12.30pm in advance of the 2pm concert. Call Markree directly on 071-916 7800 to book tickets.
